I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. This is my third year teaching at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School. I come from a family of educators and cannot imagine having a career in any other field. One of my most unique teaching experiences was teaching the Catholic faith to Karen refugees from Myanmar (Burma).
The Catholic Faith has always been a very important of my life. These past couple of years, I have been distributing Holy Communion at Sunday Masses and bringing Jesus to patients and families at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul.
Teaching and working with children is a passion of mine.It is my desire to take part in molding the world’s future generation into responsible, intelligent, well-rounded individuals. It is my goal as an educator to help excite students about the world of learning and build on his or her interests. Most importantly, it is my goal to help students grow in their faith and become stronger followers of Jesus Christ.
I love to travel and have been to 48 states, Canada, Mexico, England, France, and Italy. This past summer I returned to England and Italy. The highlight of my trip was being present at Pope Francis’ papal audience and visiting the beautiful churches and shrines. I also enjoy reading, pottery, and spending time with family. I am eager to share my love of learning once again this year!
Meet Mrs. Hunter:
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Hamline University in Elementary Education and Sociology. I was the 5th/6th grade Teacher/Principal in New Trier from 1991-1998 and became a member of the SEAS School family in 1999 as a 5th grade teacher. Being a principal while teaching fifth graders taught me a lot about organization and time management.
I am the proud mom of three grown children who are married and giving me lots of grandchildren to love. Blessed with four grandchildren in three years, I am eagerly waiting to meet Baby Boy Hunter who will be born on Halloween.
I love to teach fifth graders and am excited to meet them and help them grown academically as well as spiritually.
